Random data pattens.

I was given a grid that had a X and Y axes to work with, I was then given a dice, I had to roll the dice to get my gird coordinates, with does coordinates I plotted them on the grid which took me to the square that i could colour part or all of that square in to produce a random patten.

From these random data pattens we had produce a piece a graphics that shows the number of people that live in the whole world as well as individual countries as well we done this as a bar chart. The second piece is the percentages of the amount of people that voted for political parties, we used the percentage of people that voted for that party to increase or decrease the patten that we used.

Patten making

Original's

The 3rd task.I was given a sheet of 3 different pattens to work from. I had to creat a patten tile from these's so that they could all be interlinked. This task was very challangeing as it was hard to creat a patten that interlinked with one another without it being a square. I then scanned these in to photoshop and repeated it over and over again to produce these pattens.

I then chose one of the pattens that I had found and turned it into a positive and a nagative image, and layer it.

I was given a photograph of La Pedrera Rooftop architecture to work from. I had to trace different pattens that I could see from that one image.

Ditti Press's 12 Swatches.

These are the 12 colours we have to work from.

The Ditto Press Brief

Ditto Press is a printing/publishing company based in London. We are looking for a new publication that shows off the capabilities of our printer in an innovative and intersting way. The final product will need to reflect our aesthetic and make full use of our machines potential.

We are looking to produce a small publication that addresses a range of issues:
  • The way the ink sits on the papers
  • Legibility
  • overlapping different colours
  • Different photographic rasterisation effects
  • Gradient effects
  • Anything else you can think of
the final product will carry a selection of test prints designed by a range of students. Each student is required to submit a novel idea for binding the publication, which we expect to be beween 5 and 10 test prints.
